The Albert Memorial

The Albert Memorial was built to commemorate Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria. Around the base of the monument is an ornate balustrade of wrought iron set between marble sculpture groups representing the continents. There is nearly 150 metres, all of which needed to be thoroughly cleaned, prepared and redecorated in a rich red colour and with extensive gilding to all faces.
