Decorating & Gilding

Decorations and gilding at Spencer House, London Decorations and gilding at Spencer House, London

Hare and Humphreys are one of the largest gilding and specialist decorating companies in the UK. We undertake commissions to work on interior architecture and furniture for private clients, national museums, churches and monuments in the UK and often overseas.

Our commitment to the highest quality of decoration is the heritage of the company. The craftsmanship, vision and artistry of our in-house team was recognised when we were invited to undertake much of the the restoration and redecoration of the fire-damaged interior at Windsor Castle.

Our company’s commitment to excellence, in both training and production, was rewarded when on completion of our work at Windsor Castle, we were granted the Royal Warrant as “gilders and decorators” to HM Queen Elizabeth II.

The Hare & Humphreys name is now synonymous with a standard expected at the highest levels of decorative finishes for internal and external elements, on both contemporary and historic buildings. We have set a benchmark for others to aspire to and our brand has an established reputation for the quality and excellence that we afford to all of our projects. Our decorative finishes include graining, marbling, oil and water gilding, as well as specialist paint effects and high quality plain painting.

It has been said many times that practice makes perfect, but at Hare & Humphreys, it is the consistent production of bespoke craftsmanship without compromise, that is the answer to true perfection.
