Directors’ News

Posted on Tuesday 30 October 2012

Hare & Humphreys’ directors are actively involved in the industry to spread knowledge and work with our leading heritage organisations. Here’s a brief update of what they have been up to recently…

Peter Hare and Dean Farley (our Arts Manager) recently gave a presentation to Havering Antiques Society on the decoration and design of the Royal Barge Gloriana, which included images of the project and a demonstration of some of the crafts required.

Cathy Littlejohn will be giving a talk on 20th November on the benefits of architectural paint research to the SPAB course, Interior Surfaces: Analysis and Options. This will be followed by a talk by Douglas Kent on 25-27 Church Street, Saffron Walden, where Hare and Humphreys recently carried out architectural paint research. Places are still available and can be booked on the SPAB website here

Next spring will be a busy time for our directors. Cathy will be lecturing at the RICS Building Conservation Winter School, as well as her regular lecture to Building Conservation students at the Architectural Association. Her lectures will be focusing on the presentation and conservation of historic interiors. The North Yorkshire & South Durham Decorative & Fine Art Society will be visiting our London office for a lecture by Peter on the History and Projects of Hare and Humphreys, along with practical demonstrations at our workshop.

You can keep up to date with our directors on the Hare and Humphreys twitter feed, @HareHumphreys
